Lenny Posso, a native New Yorker, started his musical journey as a dancer during the opulent club frenzy of NYC’s early 90’s rich notorious nightlife, witnessing first hand the birth of a movement that we later coined “the Underground”. Throughout the years Lenny has seen and experienced many waves of the various sounds that dominated the city’s hot spots (Red Zone, Sound Factory, Limelight…) being fully immersed and accepted by all factions of the New York underground scene inspired him to take this Art form further.
These early influences led Lenny to become a DJ, an event promoter, and now label head of three long-standing record labels—Thema Recordings, Chronicle Records and Thema Digital Series. Utilizing his years of experience in different facets of the industry – promotion, label management, DJing, working a crowd – helped to carve out his small niche in the City’s well-known music history. Lenny now lives and works out of Berlin, Germany since 2014. An obvious step for Lenny to further engage and develop his devotion to the music.

Lenny has shared the DJ booth with legions of DJs/artists locally and abroad playing in clubs such as Output, Tresor, Berghain, The Rex, Le Sucre, and many other clubs and underground spots throughout North America, and Europe, sharing his bold, energetic, unique blend of techno-funk. His motivation lies in the pursuit to positively engage the audience with the most current and obscure sounds of today, as well as yesterday. His style of DJ’ing is one that tries to tell a story through sound while keeping his eyes set firmly on the future of the music.
As founder and manager of Thema Recordings, Lenny has curated a platform that continues to develop and redefine the ever-evolving Underground sound. Never conforming to one style or sound, Thema has built a reputation for putting out some of the most cutting edge, abstract, techno, and house music coming out these days. With artists such as Norm Talley, Christopher Rau, Ark, Terrence Dixon, Myles Serge, Aubrey showcasing Thema’s dynamic spectrum of House Music and Techno. The sub-label Chronicle is geared more towards a futuristic, harder techno sound.
Showcasing artists such as Population One, Staffan Linzatti, Aiken, Mike Storm, and Zadig helping to define Chronicle’s sci-fi, forward-thinking approach. Last but not least is Thema Digital Series. It started as an extension of Thema Recordings, with it kicking off from the eighth release from its mother-catalog. It is a digital-only platform dedicated to showcasing up-and-coming talents from across the globe. Helping many artists to garnish and further their musical careers. Each label is designed to help push new grounds, and develop a forum for artists to explore their craft. Keep your eyes and ears open, its time to go deeper!
